Hi all, welcome back to the new year at MUCSA! We hope you've all had a relaxing and refreshing break.
For those of you who signed up during O-week and Mega BBQ we said we'd be running an educational talk every week. For those of you who haven't signed up yet, come visit us on level 1 of ICT, or during any event.
These educational talks will be held from 1-2pm in ICT Theatre 2, every Thursday, so without further ado, i present this weeks talk:

Security with SSL: How It Works And How to Use It Properly
Matt Giuca
An increasing number of web transactions are made over SSL, such as
secure banking and email, yet this technology is not widely understood
and requires a lot of care on the user's part to guard against
exploits. This talk covers theoretical and practical aspects of public
key cryptography including the simple maths behind it, signing and
encryption, and use of SSL on the web. It also includes a discussion
of some SSL exploits, and a practical demo of how to set up a CSSE
server login without a password.
